Audience feedback had a big effect on the outcome of our trailer, from the first draft we made several changes before ending up with our final copy. The main piece of feedback that we received from the audience was that the storyline of our trailer was hard to follow as it just images and scenes appearing on the screen. The initial feedback was that we should add in either a voice over or dialogue to ensure that the storyline is clearly understood. As a result of this feedback we went back and added in a voiceover over the top of our trailer. The voiceover that we used was from Faye, who played the character Millie in our film. From previous research, we had seen a girl voiceover used which spoke the audience through the trailer so that they could understand what was going on.
Another piece of feedback that we received was that we should also add in some more sub titles in to the trailer again to help make the storyline clearer, it done this by explaining the images and scenes that appear. The image below is an example of one of the sub title screens that we have added in to help explain the story of the film in the trailer. Each of the subtitles were in a bold, clear white font on a black background. This makes it easier for the audience to read and also without anything else on the screen it meant that they only one thing to focus on rather than having images to look at as well.
We also discovered from our audience feedback that the images and scenes that were in the trailer were on the screen for too long. From receiving this feedback we went back and cut the scenes down, we also added in transitions between each shot/scene to help add to the continuity of our trailer. The transitions that we used were mainly fade to blacks, however we did also use some flashes around the fight scene which helped to show that this part of the film is explosive and a key scene.
With our production company logo, we started off by having a blue background on it. Like shown in the image below.
However, after watching it and seeing the logo we found out that the blue background was too masculine, considering that our target audience was females aged 16-24. From this we went on and decided to change the background to a solid pink colour. The image below is what we first changed it to.
