The combination of my three texts aimed to attract a wide
audience. The title of my film ‘Jack Palmer’ appears on all three texts, each
in a bold, clear font. On all three, the title appears in the colours pink and
white which connotes that the film is going to be aimed at females as the
colours are feminine.
The character Jack Palmer appears on the two print texts, in
the images the character is wearing casual clothing which is a common feature
for characters within the teenage angst genre. The main image that is used on
my poster is of the Jack Palmer surrounded by girls, this connotes the idea
that all of the girls like him and are willing to fight for him. It could also
suggest that there will be a relationship between Jack and one of the girls.
The relationship in my film is another stereotypical convention of the teenage
angst genre, the relationship is about a girl that falls for the most popular
boy in school. This relationship is the main narrative of my film, I think the
storyline will attract our target audience which is 16-24 females, it will
attract this audience the most as they will be able to relate to the situations
and issues that occur during the relationship.
I used fade to black transitions throughout my trailer to
help increase the speed of it by shortening the length of the clips and images
that have been used. I also used flash transitions around the fight scene, this
connotes that the scene is going to be explosive and it will make it exciting
and thrilling for the audience as they are unsure of what the outcome of the
fight will be.
I have used social media sites such as facebook and twitter
during my campaign to help promote the film. This is because teenagers are
known for using the sites very often, which means that by using these sites it
has helped me to promote the film to the target audience.
Overall I think that my campaign has been successful. The combination
of my magazine, poster and trailer has helped to show different elements of the
film through the consistent synergy that is shown on all three. The colour that
is used on all three helps to connote who the film is aimed at and this is
shown on all three texts.
This is the voiceover recording applied to my trailer.
