Film Poster Analysis

Film Title - 'Mean Girls' is displayed vertically next to the image of the main character in the film in a large simple font, the pink colour that is used in the title connotes that the film is a feminine film and is aimed at a female target audience. 

Images - On this poster there are two images that are used, the biggest image that is on this poster is of the main character of the film, and the other is of a group of girls that are all posing. The way that the group of girls are all posing connotes that they could what is known as the 'popular' group of the film and it could also suggest that they are a bit stuck up. The clothing that the group are wearing also further connotes this. Also by the outfit that is shown in the main image the audience could get the impression that she is intelligent as she looks smart compared to the other characters that are shown on the poster.

Billing Block/Actors/Actress's Names - This has been placed underneath the title of the film, again vertical. The billing block is used to credit the producers, actors and other members of the crew that helped to create and produce the film. The main star of this film is Lindsey Lohan, hence the reason why her name appears the biggest on this poster. Her name is in the same font and same colour as the main title, this is to connote her importance to the film and to show that she is the big star of it.

Tag Line - 'Watch Your Back', this suggests that the characters in the film may turn against each other creating arguments and fall outs. The way that the character that is shown in the main image is looking over her shoulder looking towards the popular group suggests that the group are going to turn on her at somepoint during the film.

 Website/Release Date - The release date is a key feature for any film poster, as it tells the audience when the film will be coming out, which means they will know when they can go and watch it. On this poster the release date is again in the same colour and font as the main title, however it is in between the tagline and the website details which are both in a white font. With the release date being in pink it allows it to be clear and easy to read for the audience.
